suicide bombing in the heart of Tel Aviv
We had a friend of David's over for a visit, when his celular phone rang and a friend informed him there was a suicide bombing very close to where he lives. Over 30 were wounded.
David's friend told us he uses to sit in one of the coffee houses in that street a lot. its shaking.

Thanks, Michael.
Michael Bernstein writes in his weblog about the situation in Israel and about Israeli weblogs, including yours truly and the israeli blogs webring that I run. There's also an index of israeli blogs, if you're interested.

Friday Five
I answer the questions on my Hebrew weblog, so there's no reason why I shouldn't do it here :)

1. If you could eat dinner with and "get to know" one famous person (living or dead), who would you choose?
I'm trying to pick between H.G. Wells, Dame Judi Dench, J.K. Roling, Rowan Atkinson (whome I admire) and Robbie Williams, Julian Sands and Guy Pearce (who are dead sexy).

2. Has the death of a famous person ever had an effect on you? Who was it and how did you feel?
The former prime minister of Israel, Yitzhak Rabin. there's no need to say anything more.

3. If you could BE a famous person for 24 hours, who would you choose?
I'll be corny and say I would like to be famous on the grounds of my accomplishments.

4. Do people ever tell you that you look like someone famous? Who?
never happened to me.

5. Have you ever met anyone famous?
not that i remember...

the very secret diaries
the very secret diaries of the characters in LOTR. Hilarious! (Some Tolkien/fantasy/sci-fi geeks may not agree with me on that, but they don't have any sense of humor anyway).
I'm definitely a hobbit-fancier.

Happy Passover?
Yesterday was Passover Eve. We celebrated at David's parents. There are many hotels in israel that hold a Passover Seder in Passover's eve. Hotel Park in Netanya was one of them.
but it won't anymore. an armed palestinian terrorist marched into the hotel's packed dining room and blew himself up. 20 innocent israelis, their only crime - wanting to celebrate Passover in peace, were murdered. 64 are still hospitalized, 18 in a serious condition.
Today a palestinian gunman infiltrated the Elon Moreh settelment and opened fire on one of the houses. 3 people were killed.

Back.
I haven't blogged for a few months, I know. I spent most of my time on the net writing in my hebrew blog, called Racheli.Dot.Net. I guess I couldn't invest time in both blogs. I'm trying to go back blogging in both languages. I hope it will be successful.

there's something wrong with my blog's clock...
just fixed it.

if some things look weird (like an entry in Oct 3rd followed by an entry in Oct 2nd), that was the reason.

talking about David
He now has a new layout at his blog, Philosofa, featuring the cutest cat photo ever taken. He also put up an about me page you might want to check out.

Me and David celebrated our 3 years anniversary yesterday. It was very romantic and we both had teary eyes during the opening of the gifts at the restaurant. He gave me a beautiful matching ring and necklace. The gift I gave him was very special, and I'll leave it to him to blog about.

We actually celebrated on Sunday, because yesterday was Sukkot Eve, and we were at my parents for the holiday feast. My parents also invited David's parents, David's sister and her husband, and the parents and brother of David's brother-in-law (his sister's husband). It was the first time my parents and his parents ever met. All in all - it went fine. My mom made a delicious meal (with the help of one of my sisters), my dad built a huge Sukka, and we had a great time. All of this was my idea, and my parents were wonderful enough to accept it and carry on with this project. I love you both :)
