Sexy Geek Girl
Smart Is Sexy
The ageless project
Bits of Magic is now a part of the ageless project! I'm at the bottom of the page.

I think the project is ingenious. Very clever.

SatireWeb.com did an interview with the Search Engine "Ask Jeeves". Hilarious stuff.

back....
I'm back from the "sports camp". It was better than I thought it would be, but I'm very glad to be home. I can't believe I have to go to work tommorow.

I got a nice email from Ohad, another israeli blogger. I have to admit I was more than surprised, but also glad :) He also pointed out the blog of May, another israeli.

My mom convinced me into going to a "Weight Watchers" group. She didn't have to convince me too hard, though... I really want to lose some weight. I'm a bit nervous about the whole thing too.

Concerning Women seems like an interesting zine on women issues. I should check it out more, to see how it develops. It's lovely to find so many nice women zines lately.

Last Words is an interesting site too, including last words, wills and farewells of famous people.

Shavuot is coming soon (on Sunday). For the occasion, I will post my amazing cheese cake recipe (it's actually my mom's, but I upgraded it a bit) here. I promise :)

:) have Fun.

arrivederci till Tuesday
At work we're having a sort of a "sports camp" in the (hot) south of Israel. It starts on Sunday and ends on Tuesday. It's supposed to make us more aware of issues like exercising, fitness, eating healthy, stuff like that. I hope it won't be a living hell. We had it last year too. I didn't like it, but I survived.

No blogging until I'll get back, but in the mean time go visit the website "Famous Name Changes". Hours of entertainment guaranteed.

:) Have Fun (I won't).

Return of the Mummy
No, you silly! It's not the Mummy, it's me! but i did went to see "The Mummy 2" today. It's such a fun movie :) You enjoy it immensely while you're watching it, and then you don't remember a thing when you come out of the cinema. A cool summer breeze of an entertainment.

I'm thinking of redoing the layout of this blog. I'm tired of it. I already have a thing in mind.... we'll see.
I love the designs of East Coast Girl and Miss Fancy Pants. I just sat and went through their entire layouts history. What a style they have! Amazing.

:) Have Fun.

designers' block
I'm trying to think of a layout for a site i'm working on. I played a bit with colors and text but nothing comes to mind. Urgh.
Usually in a situation like this, I turn to two directories, Cool Homepages and CWD.dk that feature well-designed sites you can draw inspiration from. Today I found another directory like that called HomePage Show, which is pretty good.

Through one of the directories I spotted Muppet World, a cool flash site featuring the Muppets! It's very cool.
I also found ironwulf.net. It's a very very nice personal site.

and that's what i'm doing instead of going to bed after ranting earlier that i'm tired. shame on me.

no energy
God, I'm so tired. I'm also tired of writing that i'm tired in this blog. Hurray for weekends.
I made a noodles, cheese & raisins pie yesterday (from a recipe of my mom's) and brought it to work with me today to let everybody taste it. They said it was great - YAY! :) I'm not really the cooking type. I strongly believe that either miracles or magic make recipes succeed, and I have Bits of Magic, so i guess that does the trick. Just kidding :)
There are cool recipes at Out of the frying Pan. I should try some of them, maybe at the end I'll become a cooking goddess (my mom will be thrilled with that, i'm sure :)

I visited some really lovely personal sites lately. I love Beth's dorkist.com. I wish I was as cool as her :)
Tek's fivelittlecups.com is so adorable. Her illustrations are amazing. I wish I could draw :(
Miss Fancy Pants is cool too. I really like her designs.
Nikki has made gorgeous wallpapers with her own drawings. They are so cute!

Gareth's Encyclopedia of Monsters, Mythical Creatures and Fabulous Beasts is an interesting site, and also very informative.

:) Have Fun.

You don't need pants for the victory dance
The israel basketball team, Maccabi Tel Aviv, won the European Basketball Cup ! WOOHOO!!!

(and no, I didn't go dancing in the streets half naked ;) , the subject is a quote from the I AM Weasel song (I.R. Baboon rocks). Maybe this is also the right moment to declare my undying love to Dexter.)

:) Have Fun.

feeling better
I feel a lot better today. The sleep must have done it. It's time to have fun now! :)

My Little Miss Magic!

Mario Vargas Llosa answers the question "Why literature?"

I Found A Duck is the first global duck race happening across the face of the earth and across the web. I think it's a very cool idea, somehow like the 1000 journals project, only sillier.

Turn your Silicon Graphics server into a refrigerator. Amazing what geeks will and can do.

:) Have Fun.

I should definitely go to sleep.
The last two weeks were - in a word - horrible. I hardly slept and I'm feeling miserable. I looked forward to next week, because I was supposed to attend a course ("GUI Construction with Java Foundation Classes"), which means easier life for me. Guess what? The college cancelled the course! and I was only notified today! (the course starts Sunday). you, assholes.

I started re-reading "Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire" because I needed something to cheer me up. It helped a bit - I slept better yesterday's night. It's actually a rather dark book - not a cheererupper, but it makes me feel good.

What else does a girl do when she's down? Shopping! Personally, I hate shopping for clothes, makeup, shoes and stuff like that, so I went ahead and bought myself another domain name (my 10th).
I'm crazy.

Anyway, somehow I finally managed to launch Bits of Magic.Network at bitsofmagic.net. It features all my active sites and domains. The design is simple, but I really like it :)

I also found some nice sites I really liked. One of them is soapbox girls, which is a great online zine for women. The design is beautiful and the content is interesting too.

In my former blog format I posted a link to Gifts of Speech : Women's Speeches from around the World. I just thought I'd run it by you again.

Film Fatales is a nice online cinema zine, written by and directed to women. The design is great, but I don't really like their writing style- a personal preference of mine. The content is still excellent though.

:) Have Fun.

I'm a wreck
My entire body hurts.... I'm SO tired.... this is what happens when you get 4 hours of sleep at night - for the last 3 days!
I enrolled in an online course from the Barnes & Nobles University called "Personality Type: The Secret to Your Satisfying Career". It may be bollocks, it may be interseting - I have nothing to lose I guess :)

Three people signed my guestbook today... I'm so happy to receive such attention and love :) Thanks!

One of them was Bobbi Jo from caterpuzel.com. It's such a sweet domain :) I love that layout!!

Yep, I do love boys in glasses.

This is impoartant: Personal Safety Tips for women. Read.

This doll creator is great ! (got it from Tracy). It's a shame it doesn't have a girl with black hair - like mine. This is the closest to myself I could come up with (which doesnt look like me at all, actually...) :

:) Have Fun.

I should really go to sleep...
but before that, some links!

Do you know that George Bush is 88% in love with me? Well, you can't really blame him. (got this one from Melissa, who has an excellent blog BTW)

Tracy turned katgyrl.org into a site for startup screens downloads. She has a Harry Potter startup screen too!

I really like the design of Kitty's blog. It's amazing how many domain names she owns! and I thought I was an addict with my 9 domains! (I would have 10 if imagicnation.com wasn't taken! *sad*)

I'm toying with the idea of starting a fiction diary... but first i want to finish my other projects (my journal, bringing bitsofmagic.net to life, my geek zine, my info zine, my london site... this list is too long). This will take a while.

I also found a cool postcards site for cat lovers - ActionCat.com (got it from Tracy's blog, which I love).

Now It's REALLY time to go to sleep (almost 1 am! and I have to go to work tommorow!).
:) Have Fun.

I run out of subjects
I had my little sister (12 years old) for the weekend. My parents visited today to pick her up. It was nice :) I got compliments on the apartment (Oh, it's nothing, I just worked for 3 hours to make it look like that) and on the cookies I baked (those cookies are one of Nature's biggest mysteries. I still haven't figured out how they came out so good).

I've been working on graphics for David's personal site lately and on my journal site. I look forward to start writing there as soon as I finish designing and coding... On the same subject, The National Post published a hilarious list for writer-wannabes. Very nice :)

back to our regular broadcast....
After two emotionally loaded weeks, I'm back with links, links and more links!
It feels so much better to go back to doing that :)

Wired News published an article about the MS Office Clippy and Bayesian logic. I always use Lynx, the cat....

passthison.com offers a sweet and funny musical Flash greeting card. Send it to your fellow workers and make their day rock :)
Talking about work, check out the guide to fighting office boredom and the guide to writing unmaintainable code. I thought the last one was hilarious, but I'm a comp sci girl, so don't take my word for it :)

Check out the Star Trek headliners - they're great!

I have no idea who Brittney Cleary is, but this song of hers is so rediculous it's unbelievable. They took some web slang, added some lousy rhymes, and that's supposed to represent the teenagers of today? Yeah, right.
Her singing is annoying too, in my opinion, but this is really a matter of taste, I guess.

I really like this article on professionalism.

Apparently, my flower is Chrysanthemum since I was born in November. This means:
"You like to stand out from the crowd and have a caring nature, especially towards animals. You get jealous easily and are quite bossy. You're clever and love to get your claws into your work and your love life."
It's quite true, actually. I got it from Dodo's domain, pure-essence.net. Congrats on the new design BTW :)

Do you know that there are days and weeks that are dedicated to professions? like "Receptionist's Day" (May 9) or "Medical Laboratory week" (April 15-21). Why isn't there a "programmers month" or something like that? Can't we get a little appreciation too?

:) Have Fun.
